“The Vinyl Guide” is a short guide for getting into the world of vinyl. It will inform you on the history and the basics on buying and caring for records. The guide was made because I am passionate about vinyl despite it being an older form of music. There is a beauty that comes with listening and collecting vinyl that digital streaming sources can't compare too. Vinyl records are also on the comeback in recent years and there is a multitude of people that need help getting into the craft. This is why I decided to make this guide for newcomers, it should be an easy read that helps with all of the basics!
This guide is for my senior year thesis project here at SUNY New Paltz. I designed this guide as well as produced an album cover for a New Paltz band named Kale. This album art was printed on a vinyl record cover to compliment the vinyl theme of my thesis project. The album cover was made for a live performance the band did in the winter of 2022!
